Accurascale has received the first decorated production sample of its all-new ‘OO’ gauge Class 31 A1A-A1A diesel for approval.
First announced in February 2022 (HM178), a large selection of ‘OO’ gauge Class 31 diesels are planned for the initial batch of releases, which has been split in two. Amongst the first tranche is pre-TOPS example 5544 in BR blue (Cat No. ACC2741), which is the first production sample to arrive in the UK for approval.
Also due in the first tranche of releases this summer is 31248 in BR blue (ACC2745), 31402 in BR blue (ACC2753), 31409 in BR blue with white bodyside stripe (ACC2749), 31432 in BR blue with high-intensity headlights (ACC2761) and 31128 Charybdis in BR blue (ACC2781). The remainder of the initial batch of releases – including Key Publishing’s exclusive ‘OO’ gauge 31276 Calder Hall Power Station in Railfreight Coal sector livery – are due later in the year.
Accurascale’s all-new ‘OO’ gauge Class 31 will feature a die-cast metal chassis, five-pole motor, twin flywheels, all-wheel pick-ups, 21-pin Digital Command Control (DCC) decoder socket, directional lighting, switchable red and white marker lights and a raft of separately fitted detailing parts including wire metal handrails, etched metal roof grille, grab handles, steps and sprung buffers.
Priced at £169.99 DCC Ready and £269.99 DCC sound-fitted, the first few releases are due this summer.
