INDONESIAN INSIGNIA FROM BRIGHT SPARK

It might be niche to some, but the Indonesian Air Force as a modelling subject may appeal to those seeking more exotic model representations. This is where Bright Spark Decals comes in, as it offers a whole sheet of red and white Indonesian Air Force pentagon insignia, plus fin flashes.

The pentagons come in 5, 8, 10, 13 and 15mm sizes and there are four different sizes of fin flash. This particular style of marking was applied to Indonesian AF aircraft from 1954 but has been used to this day. Note that while designed in 1/72 scale, some of the sizes can be used on aircraft in other scales. And if you want variety, the list of types employed by the Indonesian AF is long and distinguished, with more than 70 having been flown. Examples include the L-29 Delfin, Boeing 707, Catalina, C-47, Fokker F.27, HS/BAE Hawk, Il-28 Beagle, C-130, MiG-17, B-25, P-51, Sikorsky UH-34D and even the Su-27 Flanker.

Opacity of the decals’ white segments looks reasonably good, the markings being printed by Fantasy Printshop. The sheet is available direct from Bright Spark via the firm’s Facebook page or you can email: ma_burton@hotmail.com
