Cavalex Models has confirmed the second run of its popular ‘OO’ gauge Class 56 Co-Co diesel.
Nine further standard model releases are planned together with several exclusive commissions for retailers. These latest announcements from Cavalex Models include new livery and body style combinations, together with a few small amendments to the models including repositioning the bogie pivot centres by 1mm.
The new identities include 56021 in BR blue (Cat No. CM56021BRB), 56111 in BRE large logo blue (CM56111LL), 56002 in original BR Railfreight grey (CM56002OR), 56089 in BR Red Stripe Railfreight (CM56089RSR), 56052 in BR Trainload Construction triple grey (CM56052TGC), 56134 in BR BR Trainload Coal triple grey (CM56134TGC), 56107 in Loadhaul orange and black (CM56107LH), 56129 in Transrail triple grey (CM56129TGT), 56105 in Colas Rail Freight livery (CM56105CR).
Retailer exclusive editions include 56036 and 56133 in BR large logo blue for Rails of Sheffield (CM56036LL/CM56133LL), together with 56037 Richard Trevithick in BR blue for the Railway Icons collection from Locomotion Models and Rails of Sheffield (CM56037BRB). Further exclusive edition announcements are expected to follow.
As with the initial batch of 'OO' gauge releases, these new versions of the Class 56 will feature a five-pole motor, twin flywheels, 21-pin Digital Command Control (DCC) decoder socket, full independently controlled lighting, on-board power bank and prototype specific detailing to each model.
Prices for this next tranche of releases have been held at £189.95 for DCC Ready examples and £289.95 for DCC Sound-fitted models. Release is anticipated for the third quarter of 2025.
