Dapol air-smoothed Bulleid ‘Light Pacifics’

Dapol has received the first Engineering Prototype (EP) sample of its forthcoming next generation ‘N’ gauge air-smoothed Bulleid ‘West Country’ and ‘Battle of Britain’ 4-6-2s for evaluation.

In a change to the original specification, the boiler is now injection-moulded plastic for added finesse to the small rivet detail and cab backhead structures. The new ‘Light Pacific’ specification includes a heavy die-cast chassis, locomotive mounted coreless motor, all-wheel pick-up, Next18 Digital Command Control (DCC) decoder socket, firebox glow and more.

Eight different identities and colour schemes are planned, with each available DCC Ready, DCC Fitted and DCC Sound-fitted.

Prices are set at £215, £250 and £330 respectively, with release currently slated for the third quarter of 2025.
