This boxing marries the styrene parts with photo-etched (PE) metal details, pre-cut paint masks and decals for six airframes. These are:

•    29-GF-II, LT (JG) William E Eder, VGF-29, US Navy, USS Santee (CVE-29), November 1942

•    BuNo 11992/F16 JEANIE, ENS Leroy Childs, VF-11, US Navy, Guadalcanal, May 1943

•    22-F-I, LT Philip H Torrey Jr, VF-22 CO, US Navy, USS Independence, (CVL-22), June 1943

•    ‘6’, VC-13, US Navy, USS Core (CVE-13), August-September 1943

•    ‘10’, LT (JG) Dean S Laird, US Navy, USS Ranger (CV-4), October 1943

•    ‘55’ LITTLE JOE, VMF-441, US Marine Corps, November 1943

The camouflage differs in pattern and tone throughout the airframes, which include a white and grey Atlantic Fleet machine with red-trimmed Stars and Bars. Details on the PE fret comprise mainly cockpit items – instrument panels, seatbelts, switch panels, a throttle and the like – but several structural refinements are also supplied. The metal is both plain and pre-coloured.

This boxing costs £22.45 direct from Eduard, but it’s also available in the UK via Hannants.
