New Class 45 decorated samples revealed

Decorated samples of the second production run of the Class 45 in ‘OO’ have been revealed by Heljan.

The second run covers new identities and for the first time, Class 45/1s with or without high-intensity headlight will be offered.

Heljan's new Class 45 is set to appear in BR economy green.

Heljan’s new ‘OO’ gauge model will use the same tooling as the original release featuring separately fitted detailing items, five-pole motor with twin flywheels, working directional lights, cab lights, 21 pin Digital Command Control (DCC) socket and more.

Class 45/0s are set to appear as D63 Royal Inniskilling Fusilier in BR economy green with small yellow warning panels, D50 The King’s Shropshire Light Infantry in BR blue with small yellow warning panels and red buffer beam, 45032 in BR blue with full yellow ends and domino headcodes and 45055 Royal Corps of Transport in BR blue with full yellow ends and red buffer beam.

Some class 45s are set to benefit from a weathered finish.

Class 45/1s planned include 45110 in BR blue with white stripe, 45144 Royal Signals in BR blue with black roof, 45104 The Royal Warwickshire Fusiliers in BR blue with orange cantrail stripe, black bonnet/cab and Network South East flashes and 97409 Lytham St Annes in BR blue with Tinsley painted name and a weathered finish.

Prices are set at £209 for DCC Ready examples with weathered models priced at £219. Release is anticipated for Summer 2024.
