The new layout focuses on Watford Junction which is being overhauled and detailed to enhance the newly-built station from the World Record Making Tracks layout exhibited at Model World LIVE in April 2024 (HM205). The layout will feature Bushey Viaduct, the four-track station of Watford Junction, Watford Tunnel and the approach to Roade Junction modelled in ‘OO’ gauge.

The 64ft x 12ft layout will be operating Monday-Saturday each week in August with the opportunity for visitors to drive trains on the layout as well as view scale length West Coast Main Line trains running through the scene.

Work is currently focused on the installation of the approaches to Roade Junction which will see the scenery wrap around the North end of the layout on its return to the storage yard.

The event opens on August 1 and runs until August 31 between 10am and 5pm on weekdays and 10am and 4pm on Saturdays. The Making Tracks exhibit is closed on Sundays and August 16.
