Plus Model’s 1/32 scale Hand Bomb Cart and Bombs

If you’re looking for a handling trolley to complement your 1/32 US Army Air Force builds, then Plus Model’s hand cart is ideal

Modellers wanting to portray a re-arming scene with their 1/32 USAAF fighters and/or bombers will find this aftermarket set from Plus Model ideal.

It’s Hand Bomb Cart Mk.I (AL3021) provides enough parts for two carts and a pair of AN-M57 250lb bombs, as carried on types such as the P-47 Thunderbolt, P-51 Mustang. All components are 3D-printed resin, so arguably the largest task will be removing each item from its printing plinth and tidying the attachment points.

Above: Presented as 3D-printed resin items, all components are well designed; the bomb shape (particularly the tail fin unit) appears spot-on, while the trolley matches period photos.

The bombs are three-piece units, comprising the main body, box-type tail fins and a fuze – this last item can be fitted either in the nose or rear of the bomb. No instructions are provided for the seven-piece carts, but assembly appears straightforward, with four caster-style wheels plus two handles that are attached to the central carriage ‘tub’. Decals are supplied for the bomb stencilling plus nose and tail bands (both are yellow, denoting high-explosive content). Of note, modellers will need to add the bomb’s arming wire, which runs from nose to tail along the top surface.

The Hand Bomb Cart Mk.I is available direct from CMK and retailers, priced €15.61
