Simon George's outstanding 200ft long 'O' gauge model of Heaton Lodge Junction features in the June 2020 issue of Hornby Magazine (HM156). Join us for a tour of this epic model railway as we meet the owner and showcase its latest development.

Heaton Lodge Junction

Heaton Lodge Junction is the point where the Standedge and Calder Valley routes split in West Yorkshire. It features a four-track main line at its heart which divides to have a second double track route which dives under the main line to reach Huddersfield and Manchester. The four-track section on the upper level also divides with the rear two tracks joining those on the 'dive under' and the foward pair continuing onto the Calder Valley.

Builder Simon George is still in the construction phase of the layout, but with more than 100ft of scenery complete he invited Hornby Magazine to go behind the scenes to capture what he has built so far. Soon it will be a complete 200ft x 40ft continuous run layout featuring scale length 1980s period BR blue trains in 7mm scale.

We will be returning to Heaton Lodge Junction in the future to catch up on the latest development - watch this space.
