ICM KRANKENPANZERWAGEN IN-BOX REVIEW

As a theme, half-tracks offer heaps of fun due to their open-topped nature, whereby more detail can be seen. There are also many different variants to build. The fact is not lost on Ukraine’s ICM, which has reworked its 1/35 Sd.Kfz.251/1 Ausf.A to provide a Krankenpanzerwagen (armoured ambulance) – the Sd.Kfz.251/8. In this version, the standard seating and equipment brackets were removed in favour of folding seats, the vehicle accommodating stretchers, plus up to ten sitting wounded troops. All weaponry was taken away, red cross symbols were applied externally and a water canister was installed on top of the transmission housing.
