Engineering Prototype (EP) samples of Rapido Trains’ forthcoming ‘OO’ gauge Andrew Barclay 0-4-0 ‘Caledonia’ fireless locomotives have arrived for inspection.
Rapido Trains’ all-new ‘OO’ gauge locomotives will feature a die-cast boiler, E24 Digital Command Control (DCC) socket, separately-fitted detailing, optional window shutters, doors and lamps, NEM 363 dovetail coupling and will incorporate tooling variations such as different reservoir support buffer guides, reducing valves, additional tank and injector options and more.
Colour schemes planned for the initial batch of releases include Bowaters (Kent) No. 2, Caledonian lined blue, Croda Chemicals, Shell Mex, Bowaters (Ellesmere) No.1, Boots No.2, Doon Valley Railway (as preserved), Gloucester Corporation, CEGB and lined maroon. A fictional ‘what if’ livery with Guy Fawkes branding is also set to appear.
Prices are set at £139.95 DCC ready and £249.95 DCC sound fitted. |A release date has yet to be confirmed.
