1/48 WILDCAT REWORKING BY TAMIYA

Tamiya’s original F4F-4 Wildcat kit was first released in 1994 and for many years was the go-to product for anyone wanting to build this US Navy sub-type. Quite why the maker waited 30 years to rework it is anyone’s guess, but many of the parts have returned in a fresh boxing (61126), along with new components and decals, to replicate either a General Motors-manufactured FM-1 Wildcat or a Martlet Mk.V. The moulding is still generally impressive for its age, there being fine panel line and rivet engraving, but some might find the fuselage raised rivets slightly heavy in their rendering.
