TrainTrax has unveiled a new ‘N’ gauge modular railway system called Hex-TRAK intended for use with KATO Unitrack.

The standard module is supplied in a pack of three sections. The 12mm thick laser-cut MDF pieces can be slotted together to create sections of a larger layout. These pieces are designed to take a 248mm straight track section or a 60-degree section of curved track. There are markers on each of the hexagonal edges to aid alignment of the track.

Half-hex pieces are supplied in pairs and are one half of the main standard hexagon piece. These are designed for the Kato's 'N' gauge 20-170 and 20-171 curves and can be used to save space.

A double height piece is also available, with a 60mm distance between the two layers. Track can pass through and on top of the structure if desired. These can be combined with embankment modules allowing for multi layered railways to be constructed. Embankment modules are supplied on their own and can be supplied in straight or curved configurations with or without track.

The Hex-TRAK system is compatible with some of Kato’s existing products and bridges and viaducts from the manufacturer can be incorporated into the modular system without modification.

The entire Hex-TRAK system is exclusively available from TrainTrax.
