Dapol ‘Manor’ next in ‘N’

Dapol has revealed plans for an all-new ‘N’ gauge Great Western Railway (GWR) ‘Manor’ 4-6-0, following receipt of the first Engineering Prototype (EP) sample for inspection.GWR and BR locomotives are set to appear with appropriate detail differences.

Built at Swindon Works, 20 ‘Manors’ were completed in the late 1930s, with ten further locomotives appearing in 1950.

Dapol’s newly-tooled ‘N’ gauge GWR ‘Manor’ 4-6-0 will feature a die-cast chassis, boiler and footplate, a coreless motor, an all-wheel pick-up, a Next18 Digital Command Control (DCC) decoder socket, firebox glow and space for a cube speaker in the tender.

30 manors were built, 20 by the GWR and a batch of 10 after the war by BR.

Six ‘N’ gauge models will form the initial batch of ‘Manors’ , finished as 7818 Granville Manor in GWR (shirtbutton) green (2S-001_0054), 7814 Fringford Manor in GWR (shirtbutton) green (2S-001_0064), 7807 Compton Manor in GW green (2S-001-0074), 7800 Torquay Manor in BR black with large early crests (2S-001_0084), 7810 Draycott Manor in BR lined green with small early crests (2S-001-0094) and 7803 Barcote Manor in BR lined green with late crests (2S-001_0104).

Prices are set at £190 DCC Ready, £227.80 DCC Fitted and £308.80 DCC Sound-fitted, with release scheduled for the third quarter of 2025.
